The count of felled trees in Central Park grew into the hundreds after a fierce thunderstorm moved over New York City Tuesday evening. It was the most severe destruction Central Park trees had sustained in decades. Many damaged trees dated from the early 1900’s. The storm was a fast, moving micro-burst tytoe with wind gists up to 60mph. The storm was extremely localized.
The Black Crowes will play on the Central Park SummerStage on September 2nd. The Summer Stage is in Central Park.

Ugh! I stood had such high hopes to see Twelfth Night last night in Central Park!! I got tickets intthe early afternoon after choosing NOT to see it the day before! The weather held all day until rain came down a bit at 7pm, still looked good for my theater night! I stood outside Delacort Theater waiting in the rain that teased out with stopages only to resume in buckets!!
Eventually the wait had gone on too long and Delacorte Theater had to let us go! No Shakespeare In The Park last night!!
